Wand

For those patients who need local anesthesia, we now have a computer assisted injection system call "The Wand." This system is virtually pain-free when placing our anesthetic. Our team has found that most patients don't feel a thing with our magic "Wand." Of course, even before using the "Wand" we still place the topical anesthetic to numb your gum tissue before anesthetic placement.

Please feel free to let us know if we can do anything else to accomodate you during you visit to our dental home. We not only specialize in lifetimes of healthy smiles, but also a lifetime of friendship with our patients.

Bruxism: Not the Usual Grind

Sure, it's annoying when friends, spouses or children grind their teeth at night, but the effects could be much more serious than the loss of a good night's sleep on your part. This sleep disorder, called bruxism, can lead to a number of ailments, including loose or lost teeth. Even lighter grinding can wear down tooth enamel.

If you or someone in your family is grinding their teeth at night, call us at (855) 876-4988 to schedule an appointment with FistName Allgood, D.M.D..

Take Advantage of Your Dental Insurance

If you and your family have dental insurance, you should take a couple of minutes to see what it offers. Many plans have a 'use it or lose it' provision that provides a certain level of care per calendar year.

Take advantage of it and save a lot of money in the long run by avoiding costly procedures that result from poor dental habits. Our friendly staff at Andrew R. Allgood, DMD, PC will be happy to answer all your dental insurance questions. Just give us a call at (855) 876-4988.

Dental Decay & Sealants

Dr. Allgood will tell you that regular brushing and flossing lowers the chance of your children developing cavities. However, sometimes good habits alone aren't enough. The most decay-prone areas of teeth are the grooves and depressions on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. These vulnerable areas require further preventive care. To protect kids' teeth from decay, a plastic-like coating called a sealant should be painted on the chewing surfaces of all the back teeth.

It's a simple process that's extremely effective: studies have shown that sealants can reduce tooth decay by as much as 90% to 100%. Please call Andrew R. Allgood, DMD, PC at (855) 876-4988 with any questions you may have about the benefits of using a sealant in preventing dental decay.
